First Five Drill Holes Intersect Gold on Tay-LP
Vancouver, Canada (ots/PRNewswire)
Ross River Minerals Inc. (TSX-V: RRM) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has received additional assays and analyses for the first five of nine drill holes from its wholly owned Tay-LP property in the Yukon Territory, Canada.
Additional analyses were received for holes TLP04-01 and TLP04-02. Hole TLP04-01 returned a distance weighted average of 0.982 g/t gold over 19.6 metres (77.40 - 97.00m). This includes an interval of 3.4 metres which has been fire assayed and contains 3.18 g/t gold. Hole TLP04-02, 50 metres south of TLP04-01, returned 3.92 g/t gold over 10.47 metres (60.55 - 71.02m) which includes two intervals of 11.56 g/t gold over 1 metre and 11.45 g/t gold over 2 metres respectively. A previous announcement reported 6.32 g/t gold over 6.07 metres (63.70 - 69.77m) from this hole which increased after fire assay to 6.47 g/t gold. Hole TLP04-03, located 340 metres south of TLP04-01, returned a distance weighted average of 0.70 g/t gold over 5.5 metres (59.57 - 65.12m). Hole TLP04-04, located in a second target area approximately 1,300 metres south of TLP04-01, returned 3.10 g/t gold over 11 metres (58.45 - 69.45m), including three intervals of 11.34 g/t gold over 0.38m, 6.42 g/t gold over 1.02 metres and 13.00 g/t gold over 1.08 metres respectively. Hole TLP04-05, drilled at -70 degrees from the same location as TLP04-04, returned 1.66 g/t gold over 3.21 m (62.27 - 65.48m) and a second interval of 2.00 g/t gold over 10.52 metres (69.64 - 79.79m). This interval includes 6.93 g/t gold over 1 metre and 4.12 g/t gold over 1.02 metres.
Ross River is encouraged by the continuity of quartz-sulphide vein mineralisation over the 1,300 metres of the drilled structure that has been analysed to date. Of potentially greater significance is replacement style mineralisation intersected in eight of the nine drill holes. The gold bearing replacement pyrrhotite-pyrite-silica mineralisation (from 2 to 30 metres width intersected in drill holes to date) dips towards the inferred source intrusive of Cretaceous age 1.0 to 1.5 kilometres to the west. These replacement style mineralisation intersections point to a significant gold target of approximately 1.3 kilometres by 1.0 to 1.5 kilometres in size.
An additional 112 samples from mineralised intervals from holes TLP04-6 to TLP04-09 are currently being analyzed. Results from these holes will be announced when they are received. Uwe Schmidt, P.Geo., is the qualified person supervising this project.
Assays were carried out by Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd., Vancouver, BC. Halved core samples were routinely analysed for 30 elements including gold by ICP-MS. Any sample that contained greater than 300 ppb gold was routinely re-assayed using fire assay with ICP-ES finish. Standard and blank samples have been routinely added as checks of the analytical procedures. To find out more about Ross River Minerals Inc.
