Brunel: 2005 Performance Well on Course
Amsterdam (ots/PRNewswire)
In this press release, the board of Directors of Brunel International briefly comments on the (financial) development of the company following the release of the performance figures for the first quarter of 2005.
In the first 3 months of this year Brunel International booked a higher turnover than in the same period in 2004. All core activities contributed to this improvement.
The average workforce during the first quarter was 4,454, as compared with an average of 3,740 during the first three months of 2004.
The Dutch staffing market is continuing along a cautious road to growth. Brunel is reaping benefits in all segments in which it operates. The engineering sector in particular has shown a strong improvement during the first quarter of 2004.
The market in which Brunel Energy is active is developing as expected.
Sector investment levels remain high, which offers commercial opportunities for Brunel. The goals for 2005 are manageable growth and a higher gross margin percentage. First quarter figures confirm that these goals can be realised.
The German market for project management and staffing of technical specialists improved significantly during the first quarter. The flexibilisation of the German labour market is a structural development, stimulated in part by liberalised regulations on flexible labour.
At the beginning of March, the Board of Directors of Brunel International stated that it was counting on a further growth in turnover and profitability in 2005. Performance in the first quarter supports this expectation.
Jan Arie van Barneveld, CEO Brunel International: "The Dutch and German economies have not yet definitely turned a corner. It is certainly not ruled out that recovery will be slower than generally expected. This could have consequences for the growth rate of Brunel in these countries.
