Schaffner Group confirms strong demand in 1st quarter of 2006/2007

Luterbach (ots)- Over the business first quarter of 2006/2007,
Schaffner Holding AG (SWX Swiss Exchange: SAHN) increased its net
sales of electromagnetic-compatibility and power-quality components
by 16.7% on the previous year's figure to CHF 34.1 million (CHF 29.3
million). Adjusted for currency effects, the rise in sales amounted
to 15.5%. At the same time, order intake increased by 31.1% to CHF
45.9 million (CHF 35.1 million). The book-to-bill ratio for the first
three months of the current business year came to 1.35. Adjusted for
the influence of Schaffner Jacke GmbH, which has been consoli-dated
for the first time, both net sales, at CHF 29.6 million, and order
intake, at CHF 36.5 million, slightly exceeded the previous year's
excellent figures. Including the EMC test systems business, which was
sold at the end of November 2006 as part of a management buyout, and
the last test systems activity, Cable & ElectroEmulation, which is up
for sale, the Schaffner Group achieved net sales of CHF 43.0 million
and an accumulated order intake of CHF 54.1 million.
