Revolutionary Titanium Dioxide Using Innovative Technology Introduced by DuPont Titanium Technologies
Wilmington, Delaware (ots/PRNewswire)
- DuPont Launches New Titanium Dioxide Grade; R-350 is Based on New Technology for the Plastics Industry
New DuPont(TM) Ti-Pure(R) R-350 is an advanced titanium dioxide product based on a revolutionary new technology platform and designed specifically for the plastics industry.
Until now, masterbatch formulators could get certain properties from each grade of TiO2, but no single pigment met such a wide range of needs as R-350. The new grade provides a unique combination of excellent dispersibility and processing, minimal volatile content, outstanding optical brightness and enhanced durability. The R-350 surface chemistry also reduces greatly the risk of yellowing caused by reactions between TiO2 and polymer additives.
Ti-Pure(R) R-350 is optimized for polyolefin applications. It is the prime choice for high-quality, cast and extrusion films, blow molded, injection molded and general purpose applications.
"It took more than two years of intensive research to develop this product," said Kevin J. Leary, DuPont Titanium Technologies plastics global offerings manager. "We met with customers worldwide to better understand their current and future needs regarding TiO2. The result of this effort is a breakthrough surface technology especially designed to meet those needs."
During the current period of market tightness, supplies of DuPont R-350 and other grades will be limited. Samples are available from local DuPont sales representatives or by visiting http://www.titanium.dupont.com.
"We are excited about showcasing Ti-Pure(R) R-350 at Chinaplas," Leary said. Chinaplas will be held in Guangzhou, China, June 21-24. DuPont is in Booth D548.
