Nissan Europe Reports November Sales

Nissan Europe reported total sales of 42,584 vehicles (1) in November 2004, a decrease of 0.3% over the same month last year.
In the eleven month period from January to November 2004, Nissan Europe sold 498,417 units, 1.1% up on last year.
HIGHLIGHTS BY COUNTRY
- Nissan in France sold 4,272 units in November, registering a 14.7% increase compared to last year. In the eleven month period from January to November 2004, Nissan sold 44,184 units in France, up by 6.6% compared to last year.
- In Germany, Nissan sold 5,562 units in November, representing an increase of 18.3% compared to last year. In the eleven month period from January to November 2004, Nissan sold 54,729 units in Germany, 10.4% down from last year.
- In Italy, Nissan sold 4,518 units in November, representing a decrease of 35.2% compared to last year. In the eleven month period from January to November 2004, Nissan sales in Italy reached 66,740 units, down by 6.1% compared to last year.
- Nissan in Spain sold 6,447 units in November, up by 9.7% compared to last year. In the eleven month period from January to November 2004, Nissan sales in Spain rose to 61,833 units up by 11.9% compared to last year.
- In the UK, Nissan sold 8,632 units, a decrease of 9.8% compared to last year. In the eleven month period from January to November 2004, Nissan's sales in the UK totaled 98,375 units, down 8.8% compared to last year.
- In Russia, Nissan sold 2,705 units, an increase of 332.8% compared to last year. In the eleven month period from January to November 2004, Nissan's sales in Russia rose to 24,154 units, up 200.3% compared to last year
MODEL HIGHLIGHTS
- The Micra was Nissan's best-selling European model with a total of 12,867 unit sales in November representing a decrease of 10.9% against the same month last year. In the eleven month period from January to November 2004, total Micra sales reached 156,078 units, down by 1.8% compared to last year.
- X-TRAIL sales increased by 54.9% in November against the same month last year to 5,318 units. In the eleven month period from January to November 2004, total X-TRAIL sales reached 58,653 units, up by 27.7% compared to last year.
- Pickup sales increased by 5.7% in November against the same month last year to 3,807 units. In the eleven month period from January to November 2004, total Pickup sales reached 39,892 units, up by 12% compared to last year.
Nissan employs around 12,000 people in its European design, research and development, manufacturing, logistics, and sales and marketing operations. Last year, the company produced a total of 448,513 vehicles in its Spanish and British plants and sold 542,292 vehicles in Europe. Nissan Europe's Head Office is based in Trappes (Paris), France.
