Nissan Europe Reports March Sales

Nissan Europe reported total
sales of 60,644 vehicles(1) in March 2005, a slight decrease of 0.2%
over the same month last year.
In the three month period from January to March 2005, Nissan
Europe sold 132,729 units, 4% down from last year.
Highlights by Country
  • Nissan in France sold 5,006 units in March, registering a 3.8% increase compared to last year. In the three month period from January to March 2005, Nissan sold 11,102 units in France, down by 4.9% compared to last year.
  • In Germany, Nissan sold 5,050 units in March, representing an increase of 16.4% compared to last year. In the three month period from January to March 2005, Nissan sold 10,862 units in Germany, 5.9% down from last year.
  • In Italy, Nissan sold 6,580 units in March, down 16.7% against last year. In the three month period from January to March 2005, Nissan sales in Italy fell to 16,417 units, down by 25.3% compared to last year.
  • Nissan in Spain sold 6,509 units in March, up 0.9% compared to last year. In the three month period from January to March 2005, Nissan sales in Spain rose to 16,285 units up by 7.3% compared to last year.
  • In the UK, Nissan sold 17,591 units, a decrease of 4.5% compared to last year. In the three month period from January to March 2005, Nissan's sales in the UK fell to 27,944 units, down 6.6% compared to last year.
  • In Russia, Nissan sold 2,569 units in March, up 94.2% against last year. In the three month period from January to March 2005, Nissan sales in Russia rose to 5,990 units, up by 103% compared to last year.
Model Highlights
  • The Micra sold 19,996 units in March representing a decrease of 5.6% against the same month last year. In the three month period from January to March 2005, total Micra sales reached 39,389 units, down 12% compared to last year.
  • X-TRAIL sales increased by 2% in March against the same month last year to 6,405 units. In the three month period from January to March 2005, total X-TRAIL sales reached 15,780 units, up by 0.9% compared to last year.
  • Pickup sales decreased by 19.9% in March against the same month last year to 3,751 units. In the three month period from January to March 2005, total Pickup sales reached 9,149 units, down 13.1% compared to last year

research and development, manufacturing, logistics, and sales and
marketing operations. Last year, the company produced a total of
448,513 vehicles in its Spanish and British plants and sold 543,948
vehicles in Europe. Nissan Europe's Head Office is based in Trappes
