init innovation in traffic systems AG continues on its record course in fiscal year 2005: according to the key financials now available, the Karlsruhe-headquartered specialist in telematics and fare collection systems for buses and trams is expected to maintain its fast-paced growth in the second quarter and potentially even step it up as far as the operating profit (EBIT) is concerned. Quarterly sales revenues of EUR 7.9 million exceeded the prior-year level (EUR 5.3 million) by 47.5 percent. This means that compared to the first half of the year, init achieved an increase in sales of around 75 percent, to EUR 15.6 million (2004: EUR 8.9 million).
From April to the end of June, EBIT of EUR +1.1 million was recognized as compared to EUR -2.3 million in the previous year. For the half-year, this corresponds to an amount of EUR +1.6 million (2004: EUR -4.5 million). Hence init has surpassed the planned annual profit for the full year 2005 (EUR 1.4 million) already after six months, reporting a return on sales before taxes of 10%.
This above average improvement of the result reflects, on the one hand increasing supply volumes for major projects in North America and Europe and on the other hand, it is the fruit of the savings measures launched in 2004. For the full year 2005 we are now forecasting EBIT exceeding EUR 2.0 million.
