Dornier MedTech Introduces the Compact Delta II Lithotripter at the 20th EAU Congress
Istanbul, Turkey (ots/PRNewswire)
The inventor of extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL), Dornier MedTech, introduces the Compact Delta II lithotripter during the 20th annual European Association of Urology meeting.
The Compact Delta II is based upon superior technology from the most widely sold lithotripter to date, the Compact Delta. This system maintains Dornier's proven EMSE technology and stone breaking ability, the flexible over- and under-table therapy head, isocentric design and the motorized Dornier Relax+ patient table.
As the innovative leader, Dornier continues to revolutionize the lithotripsy market by offering state-of-the-art imaging and information management options for the Compact Delta II. Being introduced is FarSight, an integrated ultrasound technology that allows you to "See what you shoot" and provides continuous monitoring of the stone disintegration process. This advanced option utilizes a special multi-frequency transducer, which is integrated into the therapy head yet remains outside the shockwave path eliminating the risk of shockwave interruption and transducer damage.
The Compact Delta II offers multiple imaging options with its unique Tri-mode imaging capability, allowing the user to image with X-ray, FarSight ultrasound technology or isocentric ultrasound. These imaging options can be used independently or in combination allowing optimal imaging flexibility.
An additional capability of the Compact Delta II is the Dornier UIMS (Urology Information Management System). The Dornier UIMS is a digital imaging system that combines a high-end patient data management system with comprehensive DICOM capabilities. This system is simple to use and can be integrated into the hospital or clinic network.
"The addition of FarSight and UIMS technology in the Compact Delta II gives us a unique offering for our premium line of transportable lithotripters further bolstering imaging and networking capabilities. As a global leader in lithotripsy, Dornier continues to develop innovative solutions to benefit both the patient and physician," commented Dave Eng, Dornier MedTech CEO.
