BWT presents world novelty on the World Water Congress 2008

BWT, market leader in water technology in Europe, is presenting the world´s first arsenic-TableDrinkWaterFilter on the World Water Congress. The filter cartridge has a capacity of 100 liters drinking water at arsenic rates of 100 microgram arsenic per liter.
High concentrations of arsenic can be found in ground waters as a result of geochemical processes. Roughly 140 million people in around 70 countries are estimated to be endangered by arsenic loaded water. In the body, arsenic leads to higher rates of some cancers, including tumors of the lung, bladder and skin, and other lung conditions, becoming visible only after years or decades. Limits on arsenic were reduced by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) effective 2006 from 50 to 10 micrograms per liter.

The World Water Congress and Exhibition of the International Water Association takes place from September 7th to September 11th in Vienna. With more than 3,000 delegates, the Congress represents one of the most important international events in this year in the water industry. Apart from the scientific presentations, workshops and meetings during the Industry Forum, BWT will be present on booth 209 giving insights into its vast capabilities in water treatment.
