Effective today, Georg von Opel retires from his position as member 
of the board of directors of Valartis Group AG. The board of 
directors takes note of his resignation and thanks him for his work 
during the past two years.

Georg von Opel was elected to the board of directors of Valartis 
Group AG after the merger of the former OZ with the MCT Group in 
December 2005. Since then he accompanied the group in the development
of its business activities in his role as member of the board.
