In September 2005 SkyEurope transported a total of 196,549 passengers compared to 112,637 in the same period of last year, which represents an increase of 74%.
In the past 12 months, SkyEurope transported a total of 1,727,611 passengers, compared to 745,258 passengers in the 12 months period ending September 2004, an increase of 132%. The load factor in September 2005 reached 80.1%, whilst the load factor on the rolling 12 months is 77.7 % Christian Mandl, SkyEurope Airlines' CEO said:
"After the record figures in July and August, we continue to see good passenger traffic in September with load factors exceeding the 80% on average and close to 200,000 transported passengers. Our low fares and a steadily increasing route network with exciting destinations is fueling the demand and bring new customers onto our flights. In line with our strategy to expand eastwards we have announced Bucharest and Sofia as our two new destinations."
SkyEurope Airlines, via SkyEurope Holding AG, its Austrian holding company, is listed since September 27th, 2005 on both the Vienna and Warsaw Stock Exchange.
(1) Represents the number of earned seats flown. Earned seats also include no-shows, tour sales and seats provided for promotional purposes and to staff for business travel. SkyEurope is a no-refund airline, and once a flight has departed a no-show customer is generally not entitled to change flights or seek a refund. (2) Represents the number of RPKs (revenue passenger kilometres) as a proportion of ASKs (available seat kilometres) to recognise the effect of varying flight (or "stage") lengths.
