Hamburg, January 25, 2006. Listed company Lloyd Fonds AG, one of the leading arrangers of closed-end funds, achieved a substantial increase in revenues, profit and equity placed in fiscal 2005. According to preliminary figures, revenues rose from EUR 52 million in 2004 to over EUR 70 million in 2005. Preliminary EBIT came in at EUR 20 million, an increase of around 50% over the previous years figure of EUR 13.5 million. Projected consolidated net income for the year surged by over 70% to more than EUR 16 million (2004: EUR 9.5 million).
At EUR 286 million, equity placed was up roughly 50% on the year-ago figure of EUR 191 million. Lloyd Fonds placed around 85% of the equity received in ship funds (2004: 94%) and some 15% in other asset classes (2004: 6%) such as secondary-market UK life insurance policies and regenerative energies. As a result, the company was able to successfully implement plans to step up forays into other asset classes, while simultaneously continuing to grow in its core ship fund segment.
The Management Board plans be asking the shareholders to approve a dividend of around EUR 1.10 at the annual general meeting. On the basis of the current stock price, this translates into a dividend yield of 6.8%. Lloyd Fonds will be announcing its final figures for 2005 on April 25, 2006.
Looking forward, Lloyd Fonds expects to achieve further expansion in the volume of capital placed and, hence, assets under management in the high-growth market for closed-end funds in 2006. For the year as a whole, it projects further growth in equity placed to around EUR 370-390 million, equivalent to an increase of roughly 30%. In the first quarter, Lloyd Fonds expects an above-average number of placements thanks to the exclusive distribution of a ship fund with equity of USD 137 million via Deutsche Bank as well as the Britische Kapital Leben III UK life insurance policy fund and the LF Flottenfonds VIII ship fund, which are also being distributed.
