Graz, 3 May 2006. International Technology Group Andritz received two important orders for its Rolling Mills and Strip Processing Lines and Environment and Process Business Areas. Total value of the orders is approximately 40 MEUR.
To YIEH UNITED STEEL CORP., Taiwan, Andritz will supply a stainless steel cold-strip annealing and pickling line (annual capacity: 250,000 tons) with in-line skin-pass mill and straightening line. The order value is approximately 30 MEUR.
Production is planned to start in the autumn of 2007. The order includes the complete engineering work and start-up of the entire plant as well as the supply of the major plant parts. The mechanical equipment, pickling line, furnace, and automation are all based on proprietary technologies developed by Andritz.
In its Environment and Process Business Area, Andritz received an order from the Greek Ministry of Environment and a consortium formed by the building contractors Actor and Athena for a drum drying system (DDS) for the sewage treatment plant of the City of Athens, located on the island of Psyttalia. Total order value is approximately 10 MEUR.
After its start-up, which is scheduled to be in the middle of 2007, the plant will provide the largest sewage sludge drying capacity in all of Europe. The sludge from the sewage treatment system is dewatered and then fed to four drum drying lines with an evaporation capacity of 10,000 kg of water per hour and line. The plant is designed for the treatment of approximately 350,000 tons of sewage sludge per year. The final product, granulate of 90% dryness, is to be used as high-energy fuel. Heating of the plant is almost exclusively done with off-heat from a gas-turbine and the biogas produced in the sewage system.
