Rosenbauer, the world market leader for custom fire-fighting vehicles, yesterday won a contract from Airservices Australia to supply 18 Panther 6x6 air crash tenders worth a total of EUR 11.55 m.
The chassis of these air crash tenders are to be produced at the Group's U.S. company Rosenbauer Motors in Wyoming, Minnesota, and the superstructures and all of the fire-fighting systems at its main plant in Leonding, Austria. The prototype will be handed over to the client as early as the end of this year, with the remaining 17 vehicles to be delivered by the end of 2005.
Fitted out with the very latest technology, the vehicles each boast a 10,000 litre extinguishant tank and a 665 HP driving engine, and will be stationed at the international airports of Adelaide, Cairns, Darwin, Perth and Canberra.
For many years now, Rosenbauer has supplied portable fire pumps to Australian fire brigades, and fire-fighting systems to local superstructure manufacturers.
The award of this order by Airservices Australia provides renewed confirmation of the Group's pre-eminent international positioning and of its technological and quality leadership.
