Christ Water Technology AG increased the share in the Indian Joint Venture CHRIST NISHOTECH Water Systems Pvt, Ltd, with registered office in Mumbai, from 10 to 50 per cent. Cay Mansson, head of business unit Pharma & Life Science: "This investment constitutes another important milestone in the strategy of CHRIST to take its strong water purification know how for the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries global." Shoeb Kurawadwala, CEO and Indian partner, sees this stronger commitment of Christ Water Technology as a mark of confidence into CHRIST-NISHOTECH and as a solid base for expanding activities in India as well as for export.
This Joint Venture, principally involved in the manufacturing, sales and maintenance of water treatment plants for the pharmaceutical and biotech-industry, was founded in 2004 and has been developing very successfully ever since. The Indian pharmaceutical market is one of the strongest growing markets in the world currently, in particular powered by the generics industry.
The stronger commitment of CHRIST should also allow to create a platform for the engineering and the production of plants for markets outside India. Presently CHRIST-NISHOTECH employs 30 persons. It is planned to increase the staff to more than 100 persons in the near future.
