Verizon Business Expands Sandvik's Managed Global IP Network
Reading, England, November 28 (ots/PRNewswire)
- Growing Manufacturer Adds Capabilities to Reach 130 Countries on Four Continents
Sandvik, a global high-tech engineering group, has selected Verizon Business to expand a Managed Private IP network reaching Sandvik's 41,000 employees at 250 sites in 130 countries across Asia Pacific, North America, Europe and South Africa.
Sandvik, which significantly grew in the last financial year, needed to expand its global network and add new applications to meet increased business demands. Verizon Business was selected to manage a substantial part of Sandvik's data communication network.
Andrew Granger, infrastructure manager, Sandvik IT, said: "We have developed a strong working relationship with Verizon Business since we began working together in 2003. The network plays such a crucial role in Sandvik's real-time infrastructure. We already receive excellent network service from Verizon Business and, due to the company's truly global infrastructure, we will be able to move forward and expand our network with peace of mind in terms of the company's support capabilities."
Verizon Business will manage Sandvik's central hubs in North America, Sweden and Singapore, which host and support local and global business-critical applications. Each region demands a very high level of network availability and security.
John Irvine, vice president of international marketing, Verizon Business, said: "Sandvik is a dynamic, fast-growing company. Having already built a strong relationship, we understood the requirements of its increasingly complex network and felt confident we could support the company as it expanded. Verizon Business was able to simplify network management, dramatically increase bandwidth and also provide the support, flexibility and in-depth knowledge required to support Sandvik through all of its emerging and established markets."
