Zurich/Geneva (ots)
HSBC Guyerzeller Bank AG and HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) SA will join their capabilities in the "Trust" and "Fiduciary Services" domains into a new specialised entity named HSBC Guyerzeller Trust Company AG. It is HSBC Group's clear intention to become one of the foremost providers in this field in Switzerland. HSBC Guyerzeller Bank's Konrad K. Häuptli has been appointed CEO of the new Trust Company.
HSBC Guyerzeller Trust Company AG will work in partnership with HSBC Private Bank (Suisse)SA and HSBC Guyerzeller Bank AG as well as with other trust companies in the HSBC Group. Both HSBC Private Bank and HSBC Guyerzeller Bank have an excellent reputation in the Swiss banking community. The new Trust company aims at becoming the preferred provider of trust and fiduciary services, in Switzerland and in the global arena.
The Hague Convention strengthens the Swiss market: For wealthy international families, trusts have proved to be an ideal legal structure. Trusts preserve wealth for future generations. In 2006, the Swiss government will ratify the "Convention on the law applicable to trusts and on their recognition" (Hague Convention). Thus, the reputation and position of Switzerland's trust services will be strengthened.
