HSBC Guyerzeller Bank gets new CEO
Zurich (ots)
HSBC Guyerzeller Bank is to get a new Chief Executive Officer. The change in the top operational management of the long-established private bank was prompted by the ill health of the present CEO, Ilan Hayim. Heinrich Baumann, the current Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CEO, will take the helm at the bank on 11 July 2006. Ilan Hayim will withdraw from his operational duties at HSBC Guyerzeller Bank and will in future serve as Vice Chairman on the Board of Directors. He has also been nominated to take over as Vice Chairman of the Board of HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) AG as of the end of the year. Siegfried Peyer will continue to be Deputy CEO with responsibility for all private banking business.
The Board of Directors and Executive Committee of HSBC Guyerzeller Bank regret to announce the resignation of the bank's CEO, Ilan Hayim, on health grounds. Chairman Dr. Peter Widmer described Mr Hayim's contributions to the success of the bank as "extremely professional and providing lasting direction for our company." Clive Bannister, the director of the HSBC Group's private banking activities, is pleased that "we have been able to gain Ilan Hayim as the perfect addition to the Boards of Directors of the two HSBC banks in Switzerland."
