The automotive industry is facing great challenges. Improvements in performance, efficiency and environmental friendliness are increasingly in demand, in addition to ongoing cost reductions in production. As a result, truck manufacturers are developing new engines to improve emission levels as well as lighter truck cabins and structures so as to reduce the weight of commercial vehicles. The POLYTEC GROUP offers new solutions and technologies for lighter and more cost effective composite components.
The POLYTEC GROUP is exhibiting plastic parts for truck cabins, engines and interiors at the IAA commercial vehicles in Hanover which are already being used across the world by customers such as IVECO, VOLVO Global Trucks, MERCEDES-BENZ commercial vehicles, SCANIA, FIAT and VOLKSWAGEN.
For the exterior, complete cabin roofs, roof spoilers and side deflectors (ABCD-spoilers), bumpers, fenders, door and cabin step panels are the main theme. In the engine compartments, engine covers, cylinder head covers and battery consoles as well as truck oil pans, valve covers, fan covers, compensation tanks and wiring boxes form the main focus. For the interior, storage boxes, window cranks and clutch pedals are available.
Through the use of natural fibre composites, the POLYTEC GROUP demonstrates to truck manufacturers how weight and costs can be reduced compared to when steel or aluminium are used.
