SYNAXON AG reports preliminary figures for fiscal year 2009
Based on preliminary figures, SYNAXON AG generated consolidated net income of TEUR 897 in fiscal year 2009 (previous year: TEUR 1,620), corresponding to earnings per share of EUR 0.27 (previous year: EUR 0.45). The earnings before taxes and minority interests amounted to TEUR 1,416 (previous year: TEUR 2,284). The expectation expressed by the Management Board in the 2008 Annual Report of at least a balanced result in 2009 was thus clearly exceeded, despite the backdrop of the financial crisis and planned investments in future projects.
Last year, the Group made significant investments in the area of human resources in developing its online trading business and expanding the network partnership business to the UK. As a result, the Group´s personnel expenditure increased from TEUR 5,615 in 2008 to TEUR 6,441 in 2009. The online shop originally operated as "snippr" was redesigned over the course of the year and relaunched in November as www.pcspezialist.de. In the fourth quarter the online shop's sales contributed for the first time to diminishing the decline in sales in the network partnership business. Once again, this business was negatively impacted in 2009 by a general decline in prices for IT products.
The complete annual financial statements with final figures for fiscal year 2009 will be published March 31, 2010. The press briefing on the results will also be held on that date.
