19 January 2007. Arcelor-Mittal will employ Parsytec espresso SI surface inspection systems for several hot strip mills in America and Europe. espresso SI was chosen for its outstanding image quality, superior classification, best integration and advanced services. The first of intended five systems has now been ordered for the Burns Harbor (Indiana, USA) hot strip mill.
Arcelor-Mittal, the worlds largest steel maker, decided for Parsytec hot mill inspection systems based on technical merit after a thorough evaluation with several trial installations. The first of a total of five systems has now been ordered for installation in Burns Harbor, IN, USA.
The key features for this decision have been the espresso SI digital cameras with unsurpassed image clarity, the fully Ethernet based system architecture dramatically reducing maintenance efforts, the fully capsulated sensor design minimizing integration effort, the new classifier and imaging software boosting the recognition performance as well as simplifying the quality management job.
With this order, Arcelor-Mittal recognizes Parsytecs continued innovation, advanced services and the experience from 60 hot mill installations in the industry.
