Roedental, February 17, 2009 - Zapf Creation AG, Europe's leading manufacturer of play and functional dolls, today announced that its Supervisory Board has appointed José Antonio Santana Caparrós (42) to the company's Management Board effective March 1, 2009. Mr. Santana will assume responsibility for Marketing, Product Development, Design and Quality Management from Chief Executive Officer Stephan F. Brune, who previously managed these areas on an interim basis.
José Antonio Santana is a Spanish citizen. He has held several senior management positions in the international toy industry since 1995: Most recently, he served as Vice President at MEGA Brands, a global toy company based in Montreal, Canada. In this position, he was responsible for marketing, licensing and girls' products. Prior to this, he was Director General at Famosa, Spain's largest toy manufacturer, where he drove international expansion and headed global marketing.
As previously, the Management Board also consists of Stephan F. Brune, Chief Executive Officer, and Jens U. Keil, Chief Financial Officer.
