Company Information
19.12.2007
freenet AG, Hamburg - The freenet AG supervisory board today unanimously resolved to end the strategic review process initiated in summer of 2007. Performed with the assistance of Morgan Stanley, the process involved reviewing a dismantling of the company by selling parts of the company to different buyers. Its end also marks the conclusion of the exclusive talks with Drillisch AG.
The implementation of the convergence and brand strategy, which was suspended during the strategic review process, will now be pursued forcefully and systematically.
Based on the insights gained during the strategic review process, the implementation of a holding structure is now being looked into. In particular, this would involve hiving off freenet AG´s DSL and portal businesses into subsidiaries. Among other things, these measures would advance a value-oriented development and steering of the various business divisions and models.
