Innsbruck, 20 November 2007 - phion AG, one of the leading European providers for communication protection, could improve results considerably during the first half of the financial year 2007/08, compared with last year´s period: sales of the Tyrolean company, listed on the Regulated Unofficial Market on Vienna Stock Exchange (ISIN AT0000PHION3) since 4 July 2007, rose to 3.8 million Euro, which, compared with last year, represents a growth of more than 43 percent.
EBITDA in the first half of 2007/08 could be increased by more than 350 percent to 321,000, compared with last year´s corresponding period (71,000 Euro). EBITDA margin, therefore, is 8.5 percent in the first half year. Due to high writedowns, the one-time effects from the IPO and the costs for entering the Eastern European and the Italian market, EBIT shows a minus of 65,000 Euro for the time being, but it also demonstrates a clear improvement compared with last year´s period (219,000 Euro). Due to a satisfying interest result, profit before tax (EGT) amounts to 71,000 Euro (1st half 2006/07: -248,000).
phion AG CEO Wieland Alge: "The company still fully adheres to its objectives in terms of tapping new markets, and is partly already realising them (Eastern Europe, Italy). But also when it comes to figures, phion AG is on track, and as common experience shows, the second half of the financial year usually shows an even better performance than the first one."
