Blaubeuren, December 3, 2007 - centrotherm photovoltaics AG and Silicio Energia S.A., have signed an agreement on the supply of key equipment for the production of solar silicon. The agreement includes Siemens reactors and converters exclusively provided by centrotherm photovoltaics. Moreover, SOLMIC GmbH, an affiliated company of centrotherm photovoltaics, provides engineering support. The relating contract has been signed a year ago.
The order book reported as of November 29, 2007 further increased with the order from Silicio Energia.
The facilities are to be used as part of a large project for building up a pioneer polysilicon production facility in Spain. Delivery has been planned to start on January 2009. The first phase of the project aims for a total production of 2.500 t of polysilicon, which will create more than 300 jobs.
