September 17, 2009 - centrotherm photovoltaics AG will be showing its colors along with its subsidiaries at the "24th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition" (EU PVSEC) in Hamburg from September 21 until September 24, 2009. The internationally leading technology and equipment provider for the manufacturing of solar silicon, crystalline solar cells and CIGS thin film modules is taking the opportunity presented by the world's largest photovoltaics trade fair to present current developments and product updates:
Solar cell & module product update centrotherm photovoltaics AG is showcasing a new generation of tube furnaces for diffusion and oxidation that offer a 25 percent greater capacity: thanks to process optimization and changes within the furnace construction an increased number of wafers can be processed under atmospheric conditions in a process tube. The new furnace generation is also characterized by simplified automation and a more streamlined design. As a consequence, centrotherm photovoltaics is also pursuing its Group-wide research and development roadmap with respect to key equipment. This roadmap aims to achieve a continued reduction in its customers' watt peak costs. The furnaces are available with immediate effect and the first customer order has already been signed.
Silicon & wafer product update: new version of the multi-crystalline ingot furnace centrotherm SiTec GmbH, a one hundred percent subsidiary in which centrotherm photovoltaics AG bundles its silicon expertise, has further optimized its multi- crystalline ingot furnace to manufacture ingots, which it presented in April 2009. The high-performance furnace is being expanded to include a third, independent heating and control unit. This will allow significantly shorter process cycles averaging 56 hours, greater process stability and a higher flowrate performance of 7.5 MW peak (MWp). The new version of the furnace is particularly suitable for use within integrated turnkey production lines. The furnace's reduced installation costs and improved energy utilization contribute to a sustained reduction of customers' operating costs. centrotherm SiTec additionally offers facility design, engineering services, crystallization process technology and the requisite process key plants. This comprehensive product range once again proves the ability of the centrotherm photovoltaics group to deliver technology, process know-how and key equipment on a one-stop- shop basis.
"We are taking advantage of close contact with EU PVSEC visitors to present ourselves with our new products and improved processes to an interested audience of specialists, and to dialog with existing and future customers," commented Dr. Peter Fath, CTO and Management Board member responsible for marketing at centrotherm photovoltaics. "Our product presentations from the silicon and solar cell divisions allow us to show that innovations are an important topic in all business areas, and result in continuous improvements in performance and significant cost savings for our customers."
