Motion Network Holding, parent company of Motion Network TV, the first 24/7 free movie channel in Europe, is finalizing talks with Strech Films in Turkey in order to launch Motion Network TV Turkey. Adding to Motion Network TV Russia, Georgia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Balkans, Motion Network Holding strengthens its position in far eastern Europe. This new agreement marks the roll-out plans of Motion Network Holding to make out of Motion Network TV the first syndication in Europe and a pan-European channel.
Motion Network TV adds a new vast territory. The channel will broadcast movies that will be subtitled in Turkish and programs in Turkish locally produced by Strech Films. With over 14 million television-owning households, the broadcasting market is one of the biggest in Europe. The vast majority of private television channels are considered as generalist in terms of their output. In recent years, there has been a rise in the number of thematic channels. There are several music, documentary, sports, news and entertainment channels. But there is no real movie thematic channel so far in the Turkish media landscape. More over there is significant popular demand for new technologies and services, as observed in the mobile telephone market, where there is a penetration of 40 per cent, with around 30 million users.
Strech Films is a young and ambitious production company established in 2007. It has already worked with prestigious client such as Fox. Its creation follows the successful carrier of its founders, Ulas Ygit Ülker and Omer Faruk Baydar, in the entertainment industry. Ulas Ygit Ülker, CEO of Strech Films, enjoys a various experience as he worked for ATV, Ogilvy & Mathers Advertising Agency and take part at different levels in several movies and commercials.
"After analyzing your global business plan, made necessary research and evaluation of Motion Network TV's opportunities and challenges in the receptive market; we have, after consultation from major media actors in Turkey, reached a positive conclusion" said Ulas Ygit Ülker, CEO and founder of Strech Films.
The partnership combines Motion Network Holding European vision and network with a strong experience in all aspect of the domestic media and entertainment industry from Strech Films executives.
