Shortlist Announced for Astellas European Foundation Transplantation Grant

$150,000 Grant will be awarded on Monday 14th September
The Astellas European Foundation has announced the shortlist for the 2015 Transplantation Grant. The Grant programme supports medical and related scientific programmes which contribute to advancements in transplantation. The six programme finalists are led by institutions from Hungary, Italy, The Netherlands, Romania, Spain, and the UK. The winner will be announced at an evening event in Brussels, Belgium, on Monday 14th September.

Dr Zoltan Mathe, Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary, 'Assessment of MOOD Disorders Behind Medication Non-Adherence In Renal Transplant Recipients'
Dr Federico Esposti & Professor Antonio Malgaroli, Vita Salute San Raffaele University, Milan, Italy, 'Functional Ultrasound imaging as an innovative tool to assess hepatic microcirculation performances during and after liver transplantation procedures'
Dr. Frank JMF Dor, Erasmus MC, University Medical Center, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, 'HOPE for kidneys discarded for transplantation'
Professor Irinel Popescu, Fundeni Clinical Institute, Bucharest, Romania. 'De novo donor specific anti-HLA antibodies and liver allograft outcome according to ABCB1 and CYP3A5 genotypes in LT recipients taking once/twice daily tacrolimus'

The Astellas European Foundation is a registered charity with the long-term goal of providing support for programmes and activities that advance our understanding of medicine and health. The winner of the Grant is selected by a Judging Faculty that includes independent European thought leaders.
