Berlin (euro adhoc) - GSW moves up into MDAX
Berlin, 7 September 2011 - Deutsche Börse´s Working Committee for Equity
Indices decided on 5 september 2011 to include GSW Immobilien AG in
the MDAX as at 19 September 2011.
Thomas Zinnöcker, CEO of GSW Immobilien AG, on GSW´s rise into the MDAX: "We
are delighted at the rapid rise into the MDAX. This success confirms our work
in recent years. It also allows us to continue working on the growth of GSW. As
a result of the successful IPO, we currently have the opportunity to make
additional acquisitions in the amount of approximately EUR400 million."
CFO Andreas Segal adds: "Inclusion in the MDAX is a strategic advantage for us,
since it raises GSW´s profile on an international level. In addition, for many
globally operating investors and fund managers, membership in the MDAX is a
prerequisite for investing in GSW. It also shows that the capital market has
rewarded our financial figures for the past quarters as a clear growth story."
Deutsche Börse has special requirements for inclusion in the MDAX. Companies
must first be listed in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and
are then selected on the basis of criteria such as market capitalisation and
turnover. In addition, the free float must not be lower than the threshold of
10%.
