New building to reflect the company's strong growth
Koblenz (euro adhoc) - April 19, 2012: CompuGroup Medical (CGM) yesterday
inaugurated the new corporate headquarters. The 300 guests also included
political dignitaries such as the governor of Rheinland-Pfalz Kurt Beck (SPD),
Julia Klöckner (CDU) and Professor Dr. Joachim Hofmann-Götttig (SPD). After only
19 months of construction, the new corporate headquarters was completed in the
CGM technology park in Koblenz, including executive offices, an innovation forum
and an office building. The expansion on the grounds of the historical Maria
Trost site starts another chapter in CGM's 25-year history of growth. Today, the
Koblenz-based company is one of the leading international manufacturers of
medical information and communication technology. In Germany, one out of every
two private practice physicians is a CGM customer and CGM supports all
participants in the healthcare system.
"The new corporate headquarters is a symbol of growth as we continue our
successful journey, and a communication platform for new ideas and developments.
From here, we will guide our numerous offices in currently 19 countries
worldwide", explains Frank Gotthardt, chief executive officer of CompuGroup
Medical AG. "The modern architecture represents our company's dynamics and
innovative strength. At the same time, it is also a clear signal of our energy
for a successful future." This also includes an investment of 130 million euros
in product research and development to support physicians, pharmacists and other
participants in the healthcare system with pioneering software solutions. The
SAM products are a perfect example to highlight in this context - SAM is the
acronym for Software Assisted Medicine.
Importance of eHealth in Germany
During the opening ceremonies, political and business dignitaries spoke about
the importance of eHealth in Germany. The speakers indicated how pleased they
were with CGM's continuous growth and their helpful solutions. "A modern company
such as CompuGroup Medical enriches our region, from an economic as well as a
technological aspect," praised Kurt Beck, the governor of Rheinland-Pfalz. "Our
region's ability to compete was strengthened by the expansion of the CGM
headquarters."
The software company has made the Koblenz enterprise zone their home for almost
25 years. Approximately 1000 of their 3500 employees now work at the technology
park. The new buildings are spread out over a total area of 6,600 sqm, with
total lot coverage of 2,800 sqm. The buildings provide new offices for the
executives and 170 additional employees performing corporate functions and also
offer space for an innovation forum. In addition, there are new benefits for
employees: aside from a bistro and a daycare facility, they now have a new
company-owned fitness center. In keeping with the responsible company
philosophy, the new buildings were constructed using environmentally friendly,
resource-efficient passive energy standards.
