First pain clinic of the Group offering multidisciplinary pain treatment
Genolier Swiss Medical Network SA (GSMN), the 2nd group of private clinics
in Switzerland and 100% subsidiary of AEVIS, has today announced the
signing of an important agreement regarding the integration of
Schmerzklinik Basel AG. GSMN will integrate its first pain clinic, offering
multidisciplinary pain treatment. The transaction, which does not include
the real estate, will partially be financed with AEVIS shares.
GSMN today has signed an agreement regarding the integration of 100% of the
shares of Schmerzklinik Basel AG, a private clinic located in Basel (canton
Basel-Stadt). Schmerzklinik Basel, the only private clinic specialised in
pain treatment, realised a turnover of approximately CHF 16 million in
2012. The real estate hosting the clinic operations is not part of the
transaction and Schmerzklinik Basel remains tenant of its building under a
long term lease agreement. The transaction will partially be financed with
AEVIS shares.
Schmerzklinik Basel, located in the city-centre of Basel, is the only
private clinic specialised on pain treatments. Created in 1978, it offers
patients multidisciplinary pain treatments. Schmerzklinik Basel figures on
the hospital list of the canton Basel-Stadt and has mandates in
neurosurgery, neurology and rheumatology. The clinic employs around 120
persons, of which 25 physicians. The clinic has 3 operating theatres, 15
beds in a stationary department, a sleep laboratory, an alternative
medicine unit (traditional Chinese medicine and others), a radiology unit,
a laboratory, a physiotherapy unit and an intermediate care unit.
With the integration into GSMN, Schmerzklinik Basel will benefit from the
advantages of an important network that will support its further
development. Synergies will be realised with all the clinics of the Group,
as Schmerzklinik will form a new competence centre for the treatment of
pain, benefitting to all the patients of the group. Other synergies will be
achieved in areas such as medical partnerships, purchasing, negotiations
with insurance companies and relations with authorities.
The integration of Schmerzklinik Basel fits perfectly in GSMN's strategy.
With activities in 10 cantons, GSMN increases its national presence and
reinforces the footprint of its clinics in German speaking Switzerland.
This represents a further step towards the realisation of GSMN's long term
objectives.
