The DECT Forum, the international association of the wireless home and enterprise communication industry, is pleased to announce that the first CAT-iq 2.0 certified handsets from full members Sagemcom (D49HD) and Swissvoice (IH250) carry the HD Voice logo of the GSMA.
"The DECT Forum has recently entered into a cooperation agreement with the GSMA, where CAT-iq 2.0 certified devices will be able to benefit from the use of the GSMA HD Voice logo", says Andreas Zipp, Chairman of the DECT Forum. "We are pleased to announce that our full members Sagemcom and Swissvoice commenced market deployment of HD Voice devices. I am confident that many CAT-iq 2.0 handsets carrying the HD Voice logo will follow soon."
"The GSMA license program refers to the DECT Forum's CAT-iq 2.0 specifications as minimum requirements for fixed HD devices", comments David Hutton, Director of Technology at the GSMA. "The GSMA's license agreement is available to full DECT Forum members, who have CAT-iq 2.0 certified products."
Sagemcom and Swissvoice have signed the first license agreement with the GSMA in order to be authorised to carry the HD Voice logo on their CAT-iq 2.0 certified handsets:
"This is a significant step forward in recognizing the quality aspects of HD Voice across different service provisions", says Ahmed Selmani, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Sagemcom Broadband SAS. "The logo is an important quality mark for consumers who seek to enjoy brilliant wideband audio communication in their homes", adds Sébastien de la Bastie, CEO of Swissvoice.
