Haris Epaminonda
8 July 2023 – 14 January 2024, Kunstmuseum St. Gallen
Haris Epaminonda’s (*1980, Nicosia, Cyprus) work engages with a complex, culturalhistorical cosmos. Her work intertwines film, sculpture, found objects and images culminating in spacial installations and multi-layered narratives. Epaminonda’s subjects come from a wide variety of sources and leave room for numerous associations.
Since 2007 the artist has been working together with Daniel Gustav Cramer (*1975 Neuss) on the ongoing project “Infinite Library” since 2017. It is a constantly growing archive of books, each created and rebound from the pages of one or more found books.
In 2012, Epaminonda participated in documenta 13 in Kassel, Germany. At the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019, she received the Silver Lion for “a promising young participant in the International Exhibition May You Live in Interesting Times.” In 2022, she participated in the 34th São Paolo Biennale and in the European Biennale Manifesta 14 in Kosovo.
