For the second time at the Circuit de Dijon-Prenois: The riders of the Yamaha R3 bLU cRU Cup | Switzerland fought in heavy rain for victory

The fifth of six racing events of the R3 bLU cRU Cup | Switzerland took place on the Circuit de Dijon-Prenois from August 9 to 11, 2019. At the GoPro Round of the Yamaha Switzerland junior program, the riders were actively supported by the R3 bLU cRU Cup | Switzerland Team as well as YART, Pirelli and Valentinos.
Due to changing weather conditions and partly wet asphalt, the riders got to know the demanding race track during the training sessions and practiced adapting to new driving conditions. The riders completed the qualifying on Friday. This resulted in the starting grid for the two races on Saturday and Sunday.
The field was rounded off by Louis Lagrive (Championnat de France supersport 300), Petr Svoboda (European Talent Cup - FIM CEV Repsol), Jirí Nespesný (Supersport 300 - AAIMC) as well as Real Road Racing Legende Horst Saiger.
The riders showed all their skills during the two races and made their progress since the beginning of the season visible to all participants. After the changeable weather conditions on Friday, the first race on Saturday took place on dry ground. A top group of nine riders took off and fought hard for position changes, fair fights and clever strategy games around the slipstream. In the end, the Swiss Stéphane Frossard was able to get his first win of the season ahead of the Portuguese Pedro Fragoso and the Swiss Yves Stadelmann.
The second race on Sunday was a big challenge for the riders. Under heavy rainfall with lots of water on the track the second race started. Yesterday's winner Frossard took the lead and was able to finish the rest of the field by a few seconds. Behind them Tom Berçot and Wildcard Petr Svoboda fought a race for second place. Due to the bad weather there were several crashes without injuries. In the end, Stéphane Frossard from Team Badan Motos secured his second victory in a row ahead of Frenchman Tom Berçot and Yves Stadelmann from Team Gloggner 2Rad.

Everything is now preparing for the big season finale, which will take place from 13th to 15th September 2019 at the Circuit Grobnik in Rijeka.
