VIA NET.WORKS and TIC merge to "TIC The Internet Company AG"

VIA NET.WORKS (Switzerland) Ltd., a company of Solution24 Ltd., and TIC Ltd. from Kriens/Luzern merge, becoming the biggest Full Service Internet and IT-Provider of Central Switzerland.
The two companies will be known under their new name "TIC The Internet Company Ltd.". The name stands for one of the biggest independent Swiss Internet-Providers (ISP) with EUR 18 Mio. Revenue.
"Over 12.000 customers benefit from a broad range of independent internet offers, as well as considerable IT services, supplied by the biggest ISP and IT provider in Central Switzerland", Franz Grüter, Chairman & CEO of VIA NET.WORKS explains. Of the merger of the internationally focused VIA NET.WORKS and the well established company in Central Switzerland TIC, a modern and strong Swiss enterprise arises. "As an overall IT provider we offer state of the art connections, international data connections, direct data transfer to China, Office-Mail and WiMAX mobile broadband Internet" Franz Grüter adds.

The merger also brings about high synergy and growth potential in xDSL, Datacenter Solutions, System Integration and VPN Services.
The newly formed TIC The Internet Company Ltd. is the number 1 of Central Switzerland and No. 5 nationwide, keeping international orientation of their business. TIC The Internet Company Ltd. pursues the forcing of its business customer market, ongoing expansion and constant broadening of its wide and innovative range of products. Emphasis clearly lies on WiMAX (wireless broadband internet access), IP Services between Europe and Asia, Mobile Mail solutions with Hosted Exchange as well as Voice-over-IP (VoiP).
The VIA NET.WORKS management will head the new TIC The Internet Company Ltd. from now on, TIC The Internet Company Ltd. is a company of Solution24 Ltd. Holding, which now is mostly in the possession of the founders of former VIA NET.WORKS Franz Grüter, Aldo Britschgi and Pius Grüter.
