BKW Pricing
Slight increase in electricity prices for 2015

Bern (ots)

Electricity prices will increase slightly for BKW's customers in 2015. This adjustment is mainly due to a significant increase in the statutory charges introduced to promote renewable energies (CRF).

Private and basic-provision commercial customers will pay an average of 2.9% more for their electricity in 2015, primarily due to the higher statutory fees. This percentage may vary between individual customers, depending on the product and the power demand profile. The determining factor for the slight lift in prices is the significant increase in compensatory feed-in remuneration (CRF) from its present level of 0.6 Swiss cents/kWh to 1.1 cents/kWh.

The new prices for energy and grid usage, together with the increased statutory charges, will take effect on 1 January 2015 and are published at www.bkw.ch/markt. BKW will be introducing new names for the products available from 2015.
