Security Measures at Frankfurt Airport Will Not Be Publicized
Frankfurt/Germany (ots)
To enhance the already high security standards in place at Frankfurt Airport (FRA), Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide - the owner and manager of FRA - maintains close relations with the responsible government agencies and security experts of airlines and other organizations. In particular, Fraport AG cooperates with the German Federal Border Police (Bundesgrenzschutz), Hessian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Transport, Hessian Ministry of the Interior, as well as various police authorities on a continuous basis to carry out refinements or to implement new safety and security precautions. This cooperation not only involves checking passengers, baggage and cargo but also includes security "background checks" of personnel working at the airport. Furthermore, appropriate measures are in force across the entire airport site to prevent security-related infringements and other illegal activities.
All companies and organizations involved in the air transport industry at FRA place the highest priority on security. Of course, these organizations are unanimous in their view that existing and new security measures
should not be publicized - otherwise, criminals forces could use this information to undermine security efforts. As in the past, filming (still or video) is not at the various control points in the airport terminals. Therefore, Fraport AG asks media representatives, in particular, to respect the importance and necessity of these restrictions.
Fraport AG still advises all passengers as well as meeters and greeters - before they travel to the airport -to contact their airline or travel agency about the status of their flight. In addition, passengers are requested to arrive in plenty of time for their flight departure, allowing for possible delays at the check-in counters and at the control points. Passengers should carefully observe all restrictions on guns and other weapons, which they are not allowed to take on board the aircraft. This includes sports weapons as well as all types of knives and scissors, and similar items.
