The Softing Group continued to achieve significant improvements in terms of incoming orders, sales and earnings.
According to preliminary calculations, incoming orders - an important early indicator - rose by 17% in the second quarter of 2007, resulting in an increase of 20% to EUR 14.4 million for the first half-year. There was a further improvement in sales as well. Worldwide sales climbed by 29% in the second quarter of 2007. Overall, sales increased by 24% to reach EUR 13.6 million in the first six months of the year. Our operating earnings developed just as positively, jumping by EUR 1.7 million in the first half-year to EUR 1.2 million.
A particularly pleasing development is that Automotive Electronics is back on the road to success. The division is experiencing double-digit growth rates and has returned to profitability. This is a clear turnaround.
The divisions' preliminary figures for the first six months of 2007 are as follows:
Sales Automotive Electronics: EUR 6.6 million (2006: EUR 5.0 million) EBIT Automotive Electronics: EUR 0.3 million (2006: EUR -1.0 million) Sales Industrial Automation: EUR 7.0 million (2006: EUR 5.9 million) EBIT Industrial Automation: EUR 0.9 million (2006: EUR 0.5 million)
Equity as of the end of the first six months of 2007 was EUR 13.2 million. This translates to EUR 2.34 per Softing share compared to the current share price of approx. EUR 3.00.
