District Heating Business (D)

In the context of an overall settlement, Scandinavian Energy Finance
Limited ("SEFL") sold its 7 district heating systems to its main
lender, Lantbrukskredit AB. EIC owns 67% of SEFL and expects net
proceeds of approx. CHF 6 million as a result of the transaction.
This compares to a book value of CHF 10.4 million and implies a NAV
reduction of CHF 2.9 per share from CHF 17.3 to CHF 14.4. The write
down will be recorded effective June 30, 2004.EIC is listed on the Swiss Exchange (SWX) and on the Frankfurt Securities Exchange (Bloomberg: EIC SW Equity / EIV GR Equity). The Company, after the reported sale, holds two private equity investments in the fields of power generation and power trading.
