Latest PDA Smartphone from Orange
The latest PDA Smartphone from Orange will be on sale from 23 April 2005. Whether you use it as your mobile office, as a multimedia device or mobile phone, you will be impressed by the SPV M500's all-round performance. The SPV M500 from Orange is particularly suitable for those who use a PDA (personal digital assistant) for business. In addition to mobile synchronisation with office data (e-mail, calendar, contacts, tasks, notes, etc.), the tiny all-rounder offers advanced voice command functionality.
The SPV M500 joins the successful Orange SPV range and is designed to succeed the established SPV M1000. Much effort has also gone into developing a considerably smaller PDA (58 x 108 x 18 mm, weight 150 g including rechargeable battery). The SPV M500 is now slimmer and narrower than a packet of cigarettes. Another new feature is the integrated voice command software for telephone number dialling. Users no longer need to allocate a voice signature to each individual contact; the SPV M500 does that itself and will make the call in response to a clear voice command.
How many Megabytes are there in an e-mail?
Thanks to the new integrated GPRS monitoring function, users always know the amount of data being sent and received via the SPV M500 at any time. You can produce hourly, daily or monthly transmission reports and transfer them to your PC. Users of the SPV M500 and especially businesses can therefore easily control their data communications. Using this method, you can obtain a reliable estimate of costs or of the remaining data volume included in your price plan.
Razor-sharp
The SPV M500 is also the first PDA Smartphone from Orange with a 1.3 Megapixel resolution integrated camera. Professional users (e.g. building site architects, insurance inspectors producing damage reports, etc.) can take razor-sharp photographs and view them comfortably on the approx. 45 x 60 mm screen with over 65,000 colours and a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. You can also send the images directly from the Smartphone using the integrated e-mail application.
Tried-and-tested
As well as all its new features, the SPV M500, which uses the Windows Mobile Pocket PC operating system, offers many tried-and-tested features. As a triband mobile phone it is at home in just about any mobile phone network around the world. The Activesync application allows users access to office data anywhere and at anytime through the simple and rapid data synchronisation both with a PC/laptop and via GPRS with a server (MS Exchange 2003). As with the previous SPV M1000 and SPV M2000 PDA Smartphones from Orange, Pocket Excel, Pocket Word and programmes to view PDF files and PowerPoint presentations are also standard (see separate data sheet for details).
