London / Frankfurt - 17 July 2002 - DICOM Group plc ("DICOM Group" or "the Group"), the global leader in the Electronic Data and Document Capture ("EDC") market, a fast growing segment of the Office Automation software industry, announces the following trading update ahead of its close period. Preliminary Results for the year ended 30 June 2002 will be announced on Tuesday, 17 September 2002. In the core EDC Division, trading during the last quarter of DICOM Groups financial year, has remained strong. In June it secured a number of new contracts with blue chip clients, notably a contract worth US$ 700,000 from Raymond James, the US investment bank. Other sizable contracts gained during the last quarter included European projects at Hertz UK, Halifax Bank, the Ministry of Justice in the Netherlands and the Italian Post. Current trading in the EDC Division continues to be strong, with recent order flow ahead of the same period in 2001. Ascent Ricochet, the award winning new software product line extending the Ascent Capture product family, was launched at the end of June and first orders have been received in July. The Group remains well positioned in its core market, EDC, which has shown good growth during the year in contrast to difficult general trading conditions in the IT market. This growth has been aided by the successful launch of new products, increased sales to new and existing customers, and has led to a growing market share.
