Spirent Communications And Alcatel Sign Purchasing Agreement
BERLIN (ots)
DSL World Forum-Spirent Communications(TM), a wholly owned business group of Spirent plc (LSE:SPT;NYSE:SPM), has signed a two-year Master Purchasing Agreement (the 'Agreement') with European communications equipment manufacturing leader, Alcatel.
The Agreement, which also designates Spirent as one of Alcatel's global preferred suppliers, will be effective for Alcatel's worldwide operations. It will cover products from Spirent Communications Performance Analysis division, including core network testing, router testing, and IP performance evaluation.
The Agreement builds upon an existing and long-standing customer relationship between Alcatel and Spirent, and serves as confirmation of the successful cooperation between the teams for developing methods of laboratory and remote testing.
"With this Agreement, Spirent will expand its role to help Alcatel accelerate the development of its products and keep time-to-market to a minimum," said François Surinx, Spirent's global key account manager for Alcatel. "Alcatel has always been one of Spirent's most innovative and loyal customers. We have successfully worked together for some time to develop many new testing ideas, and we look forward to furthering this relationship under the new Agreement."
Spirent has brought an innovative approach and strong support in the development of several testing solutions for Alcatel, including new tools and methods to accelerate the testing of Alcatel's RCP7770 Core router product. Spirent also has been also one of the key test equipment providers for Alcatel's DSL test environment.
