Cologne, 7 November 2007 - DocCheck AG, Cologne, (ISIN DE0005471007 // Symbol 547100) increased sales by nine per cent in the first nine months of 2007, taking the figure from 9.4 million euro to 10.3 million euro. The development of the portal business under www.doccheck.com was particularly dynamic. The largest portal for medical professionals in Europe increased sales by 49 per cent in the first nine months, taking the figure from 1.6 million euro to 2.4 million euro. In the third quarter of 2007 sales in the DocCheck Division increased by 77 per cent when compared to the same quarter in the previous year, taking the figure to 845 keuro. Sales were boosted in particular by an increased demand for advertising spaces and online direct marketing.
DocCheckShop, the trading business of DocCheck, increased sales by 24 per cent, taking the figure to 3.7 million euro. The antwerpes Division - the Group's agency business - recorded a slight decrease in sales of seven per cent in the first nine months, with the figure dropping to 4.5 million euro. Sales in the agency business totalled 1.6 million euro in the third quarter which reflected a 23 per cent increase when compared to the second quarter. The temporary weakness in demand, which was caused by the healthcare reform at the beginning of the second quarter, has therefore been overcome.
In the third quarter the operating result totalled 105 keuro (previous year: 201 keuro). Profit per share was 4 cent (previous year: 3 cent). For the first nine months EBIT totalled 38 keuro (previous year: 616 keuro) and profit per share totalled 5 cent (previous year: 10 cent). Liquid funds and current-asset securities totalled 14.3 million euro at the end of the third quarter. In addition the company holds 232,522 of its own shares as at 30 September 2007. DocCheck AG is expecting an increase in sales totalling 14.2 - 14.5 million euro for the whole year, which reflects a rise of 4.4 - 4.6 per cent, and a profit per share of 7 - 8 cent (previous year: 16 cent).
