Bell Canada Extends Syndesis Deployment; Auto-Provisioning Solution Streamlines Service Delivery
Toronto (ots)
In keeping with its corporate mandate to set the standard in operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, Bell Canada has successfully deployed an auto-provisioning solution from Syndesis to streamline the delivery and management of ATM and Frame Relay services within Canada's largest broadband network. Bell Canada's latest Syndesis implementation builds upon the service provider's continued success in relying on Syndesis as the core software suite for a wide range of operations support projects, from service discovery and data reconciliation to "service-on-demand" provisioning for Bell's IP-VPN Enterprise customers.
"Extending our use of Syndesis to include auto-provisioning of more traditional services like ATM and Frame Relay has further empowered Bell's Operations group to do its job even more efficiently and effectively," said Wayne Guthrie, General Manager of Operations, Customer Provisioning for Bell Canada. "Bell has had great success working with Syndesis for several years and this most recent deployment is no exception. We have dramatically improved our time-to-service and reduced our operational expenses. And, perhaps most importantly, the Syndesis solution is allowing us to do more with less -- an objective that is not only driving Bell's move to the future with IP, but is shaping how we cost-effectively support established, lower-layer networks and services as well."
Syndesis' award-winning, carrier-proven software solutions deliver fully integrated network synchronization, service discovery and service management for the widest range of broadband network technologies and services. Syndesis also provides off-the-shelf support for more than 200 network equipment devices from leading equipment vendors through an extensive catalogue of Equipment Modules, many of which have been selected and deployed at Bell. Syndesis' dynamic service discovery and provisioning solutions eliminate error-prone, manual service delivery procedures and significantly reduce provisioning failures -- factors which have enabled Bell to achieve operational flow-through for ATM and Frame Relay services within its nation-wide, multi-vendor, production network.
"This latest milestone at Bell is further testament to the flexibility of our solution suites and the value they bring to large carriers and their customers," said Mark Nicholson, Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Product Development for Syndesis. "Whether we're talking about ATM, DSL, and VPNs, or emerging technologies and services like GigE, next generation Optical, and Voice over IP, whether we're talking basic broadband access or the value-added services it enables, Syndesis solutions revolutionize service providers' productivity and customer responsiveness. Bell Canada is one of the many leading carriers around the world that recognizes this."
