IP Surveys Show Continuation of Anomalies to Depth at El Pulpo
Vancouver, Canada (ots/PRNewswire)
Ross River Minerals Inc. (TSX-V: RRM) (the "Company") is pleased to announce results from its Induced Polarity (IP) and magnetometric geophysical surveys over new grid lines east and west of known porphyry copper mineralization. A total of 73.04 line-kilometres of IP and magnetometer surveys were carried out, including 56.16 line-kilometres east and 16.88 line-kilometres west of the 2004 grid. IP geophysical anomalies were detected in the Minitas and Vado Hondo areas (see press releases dated April 25, May 9 and August 11, 2005).
The IP surveys with a pole-dipole array and a station spacing of 50 metres resulted in IP readings at six depth intervals, corresponding to a depth of penetration of approximately 150 metres. To obtain a better understanding of the depth extent of the IP anomalies identified in the 2004 and 2005 IP programs, the Company also re-surveyed 7.54 line- kilometres to a depth of penetration of 12 levels, or approximately 300 metres. The extra depth levels in each case helped to define more clearly the nature and trend of the chargeability anomalies and associated conductivity/resistivity anomalies.
The results of the 2004 and 2005 IP surveys clearly indicate a broad arc-shaped zone of chargeability anomalies approximately 2.7 by 3.5 kilometres in dimension. This zone extends from the Cerro Colorado area north through the Langosta area and west to the Vado Hondo area. This area contains porphyry mineralization with coincident soil and lithogeochemical anomalies for copper, molybdenum, silver and gold. The Minitas area (2.5 kms x 1.0 kms) is characterized by chargeability anomalies, soil anomalies and mineralization similar to those of Cerro Colorado approximately two kilometres to the east.
The re-survey to 12 depth levels showed that the IP anomalies do extend at least 300 metres from surface and become stronger with depth. The positive results from the program have clearly defined drill targets for a drill program scheduled for October.
James R. Reeves P. Geo was the qualified person supervising the exploration program.
