WISeKey ELA (Spain and Latin America Affiliate) appoints Victor Canivell as its CEO to widen the reach of WISekey to Spain and Latin-American Markets

Former Safelayer.com CEO Victor Canivell will head WISekey ELA, a joint venture company in Bilbao, Spain of WISekey and Velasco Group.
Geneva, Bilbao (ots) - WISeKey ELA has appointed Victor Canivell as its Chief Executive Officer. Victor Canivell joins WISeKey ELA with more than 25 years management experience in the computer and networking industries. He has held a number of EMEA vice-presidency roles both in sales and services in companies such as Hewlett Packard, 3Com, Silicon Graphics, Cray Research as well as in start-ups such as Aspective. Victor has recently held the role of CEO at Safelayer, the pioneering digital signature Spanish start-up. He joins from SSA Global where he has contributed to the successful NASDAQ IPO last year.

Newly founded computer security technology company WISeKey ELA, with head offices in Bilbao, is to distribute product made by WISeKey SA in Geneva, Switzerland, in Spain and Latin America and to establish WISekey presence in these markets via a network of affiliates. WISekey ELA was built on the strong trusted technology foundation of WISekey, addressing a significant market need for PKI and ID management.

A seasoned executive with many years of information technology management experience, Victor has lived and worked in a number of locations during his career, including several years each in London, Cupertino (CA), Geneva, Stuttgart, Madrid and Barcelona. He is fluent in several languages having studied at the Swiss School in Barcelona. Victor has an MBA from ESADE (Barcelona) and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Barcelona. He has attended management courses at INSEAD and IESE.
