Bechtle exceeds previous earnings forecast
Gaildorf, 16.02.2004. According to preliminary figures, IT system house Bechtle will exceed its previous earnings forecast. Bechtle now expects to report pretax earnings (EBT) of approximately 27 million Euro (US-GAAP) for the previous fiscal year (2003). The company's earnings therefore are ahead of the previous forecast, which had already been revised upward on one occasion. In November 2003, Bechtle had projected an EBT of between 24 and 26 million Euro. In comparison with the previous year (2002/03), the preliminary figures show an increase in earnings of more than 40 percent. The company will be reporting sales in 2003 of approximately 790 million Euro, which will be at the lower end of the projected range of between 790 and 810 million Euro. With a staff more than 3,100, Bechtle expects to generate sales of over one billion Euro throughout Europe for the current fiscal year 2004. Following its two most recent acquisitions, Comsyt (Zurich) and ARP Datacon (Canton of Zug), Bechtle has a strong and stable market position in Switzerland and plans to generate one fifth of this year's sales in Switzerland.
