init innovation in traffic systems AG started into fiscal 2007 with sales up by 25 percent and a record level of orders. Revenues generated in the first quarter totaled 7.7 mio. Euro to top the excellent prior year figure (6.2 mio. Euro) by around 25 percent and thus marginally exceed projections. The earnings before interest and taxes of 0.4 mio. Euro (previous year: 0.4 mio. Euro) proved significantly higher than the forecast.
Traditionally, group sales at init spread unevenly throughout the fiscal year, with the lion share generated in the third and, especially, in the fourth quarter.
The gross operating result thus aggregated 2.7 mio. Euro and exceeded the excellent prior year result of 2.4 mio. Euro. The period surplus in the group once again stood at 0.3 mio. Euro (previous year: 0.3 mio. Euro), which corresponds to earnings per share matching the prior-year level of 0.03 Euro.
With a record level of orders of 77.8 mio. Euro (status end of March, previous year: 58.8 mio. Euro), init is again well on its way to achieving above-average growth in 2007 and reaching its sales and earnings targets for the year. In fact, the Managing Board anticipates revenues of some 45 mio. Euro (2006: 36.3 mio. Euro) for the year and earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of over 6.5 mio. Euro (2006: 5.6 mio. Euro).
