IXOS-eCONserver Receives High Performance and Scalability Ratings from Sun's Benchmark Test

IXOS SOFTWARE AG (NASDAQ: "XOSY", NEUER MARKT: "XOS"), a global leader in eBusiness document management solutions for inter-enterprise environments, announced today that a performance benchmark of IXOS-eCONserver, the core building block for IXOS's data and document archiving solutions, performed jointly with Sun Microsystems, resulted in high performance and scalability ratings. The IXOS-eCON server was tested on a Sun Enterprise 6500 Server under the Solaris Operating Environment in Sun's test lab in Langen, Germany.
IXOS and Sun Microsystems evaluated the performance of the IXOS-eCON server on Sun Microsystems' high-performance parallel SMP computers. Part of the benchmark involved testing read-access to archived documents, where twelve processors were used to simulate several thousand concurrent reading users during the different test scenarios. With several hundreds of documents read per second and data transfer rates that exceeded 70 Mbytes per second, the results of the test clearly reflect the high performance and utilization of the system. The processors' even load of more than 90% when running at full capacity demonstrates the reliability and scalability of Sun's hardware and the IXOS-eCON server.
