Salzgitter (euro adhoc) - Bernhard Kleinermann has been appointed as the new
spokesman of Salzgitter AG and head of Corporate Communication, effective
September 1, 2011.

As of this date, he will be the successor of Bernd Gersdorff who will be at hand
to assist until he retires on December 31, 2011. Gersdorff will be 65 years of
age in November. He will continue to have close ties with Salzgitter AG. This
succession planning ensures continuity in the external presentation of the
MDAX-listed steel and technology company based in Lower Saxony. 

Mr. Kleinermann (49) holds a degree in industrial engineering and has been in
the service of the company since 1996. He is currently responsible for capital
market communication (Investor Relations) as well as external financial
reporting. He will assume his new tasks in addition to his former duties.
